Was back home in Champaign for a wedding last weekend and woke up Sunday to my car spray painted in black paint as well. My car was parked outside my parents house in Cherry Hills and the cop that took the report said I was the 5th car in the neighborhood today to report vandalism.  They spray painted "call me" and a phone number.  I called the number and sure enough it was a 16yr old Centennial student.  I asked him if he had any enemies since I wouldnt think he would be that dumb to spray paint his own number across some random persons car.  I remember being at Centennial 12 years ago and wouldnt even think of doing this type of destruction to property, let alone random strangers.  What happened to just TP and maybe an occassional egg to people you knew?  I say if highschool kids are getting enough courage to start this type of behavior we should take a page from Singapore and cane these kids like they did back in 94.  Maybe that'll teach them a lesson.

Probably kids living in your parents neighborhood, or one of the surrounding ones.  Sooner, or later; they will mention it to other kids who will mention it to others.  The Sheriff will eventually track them down.  Their parents will have to bail them out, go to court with them, pay damages, pay the fines, pay an attorney; and remind them of their stupidity all their lives. Of course, their parents will never mention to them the stupid things that they did when they were younger.  You have every right to be angry; but it is better that you did not catch them doing it.  You could have found yourself in jail for assault and battery.

Offer the kid $$ to help you find out who did it.  I bet he has a name within a few hours.

i told him i was keeping his number on the side of my car and keeping it parked up here in Chicago. He can get annoyed by all the people dialing his cell phone first before he has to explain to mom and dad to change his phone number.
