Vehicle vandals at work in southwest Champaign

CHAMPAIGN — Champaign police and Champaign County sheriff's deputies need help finding the person or persons responsible for a number of vehicle vandalisms in southwest Champaign recently.

About 16 vehicle owners reported July 23 and 24 that their vehicles had been spray-painted with nondescript markings and phone numbers.

Areas reporting damage include:

— 1900 block of South Duncan Road.

— 2400 block of Brett Drive.

— 2500 block of Pinehurst Drive.

— 2500 block of Waterville Drive.

— 2600 block of Pine Valley Drive.

— 2600 block of Southmoor Drive.

— 2800 block of Willow Bend Road.

— 2900 block of Prairie Meadow Drive.

— 2900 block of Sierra Drive.

— 2900, 3100 and 3200 blocks of Valleybrook Drive.

— 3800 block of Farhills Drive.

— 2900 block of Wendover Place.

— 3100 block of Glenhill Place.

Residents are asked to report any kind of property damage or other unusual activity to police immediately.

Anyone with information on who might be committing the vandalism can call Champaign police at 217-351-4545. Crimestoppers

may offer a cash reward for any information that leads to an arrest. Information can be reported by calling 373-8477 (TIPS); anonymous web tip at: http://www.373tips.com or by texting keyword "CCTIP" plus the information to 274637 (CRIMES).
