C-U foundation, DSO vie for online votes

Two local nonprofit organizations are in the running for a $15,000 office technology makeover, and you can vote to help them win.

The Champaign Urbana Schools Foundation and the Danville Symphony Orchestra are both finalists in the RK Dixon 7th annual Make My Non-Profit Run Better contest. The two organizations are among 20 non-profits who made it through the first round of voting.

Supporters can vote online at http://bit.ly/rkdixoncontest through Aug. 10. You can vote once per day.

Votes will be counted to determine the winning organizations the week of Aug. 20.

After the second round of voting, the 12 organizations who receive the most number of votes will be awarded a prize from RK Dixon ranging from $1,000-$15,000 to make their office run more efficiently.

The first runner-up will receive a prize valued at $10,000, and the two remaining winners will receive a prize valued at $5,000. In addition, RK Dixon will award eight other entrants with a prize valued at up to $1,000 each.
