Woman hurt in motorcycle crash

MAHOMET — A Monticello woman was hospitalized in fair condition Saturday night after crashing her motorcycle into a cornfield earlier in the day.

A release from Illinois State Police at Pesotum said Peggy A. Bargon, 56, was driving her motorcycle south on Illinois 47 near Champaign County Road 2750 N, about four miles north of Mahomet, when she lost control and went into a cornfield.

Police said the accident happened at 1:35 p.m. and that Bargon was taken to Carle Foundation Hospital in Urbana by ambulance with non-life threatening injuries.

She was not issued any tickets.
