Champaign public works crews out

CHAMPAIGN - Public works crews for Champaign planned to respond to problem areas of flooding as needed Saturday night and Sunday morning.

Administrative Services Supervisor Kris Koester said heavy rains Saturday night caused flooding at the Washington street viaduct, the intersection of State Street and Springfield Avenue, and the 1900 block of West Kirby Avenue. Crews got all those areas cleared, he said.

Koester said crews will be out until at least 11 a.m. Sunday.
