A new theater group is coming to Champaign-Urbana.
John Stuff, one of the founders of the Champaign-Urbana Theater Company, made the announcement Tuesday on A Penny For Your Thoughts on NewsTalk 1400 WDWS.
The group is called the Stone Soup Theater Company, and Stuff said the group hopes to start shows this winter, with an emphasis on dinner theater.
And speaking of those high school teachers, Stuff said drama teachers at Centennial, Central, Urbana, and Mahomet-Seymour High Schools have all signed on to be a part of the new group.
Stuff also said the group is looking to start a Penguin Project, that would pair local actors with kids who have mental disabilities and give those kids a chance to learn more about theater.
Stuff said the new theater group will have its first fundraiser on Nov. 3 at Stone Creek Golf Club in Urbana. If you want more infornation on that, or information of the group in general, you can call 356-0632 or email firstname.lastname@example.org
