Two arrested over Atwood home invasion

ATWOOD — Two Atwood men have been arrested in connection with a home invasion that occurred in Atwood last week.

A release from Chief Deputy Mark Huckstep of the Piatt County sheriff's office said Brock Anderson, 26, and Timothy Drake, 22, were arrested Wednesday in connection with an attack on a man in his home on South Indiana Street on Aug. 28.

Huckstep said about 2:15 a.m. that day, the victim reported to deputies that two men wearing masks and armed with baseball bats forced their way into his house as he slept.

After hearing his door kicked in, the resident got up and became involved in a fight with one of the intruders.

He was able to get the mask off that person and tell police who it was.

Huckstep said Anderson and Drake are being held in the Piatt County jail waiting for bond to be set.
