Douglas County trying to find suspects in business, farm burglaries
The Douglas County sheriff's office, the Tuscola Police Department and the Douglas County Crimestoppers are seeking information to help them solve several burglaries that happened over the last few days.
These burglaries include:
— Someone forcing his or her way through the rear door to Floyd's Barber Shop, 107 West Sale, Tuscola, either the evening of Aug. 30 or the morning of Aug. 31. Money, including cash and checks, was stolen, much of it inside a bank deposit bag. The bag was also stolen, as was a Toshiba laptop.
— The same night or morning, someone broke into Originally Yours Hair Salon, 114 West North Central, Tuscola, and stole a cash box containing an undisclosed amount of cash.
— Between 6:30 p.m. Monday and 5:45 a.m. Tuesday, someone broke into to the Newman Car Wash, 2560 East U.S. 36, Newman. He or she opened the coin and bill acceptor machine and stole cash, including coins.
— Someone broke into four separate farm sheds in Arcola, Sargent and Murdock townships either Monday or Tuesday. In each case, a side or rear door was forced open. Stolen from the sheds were electrical cords, copper pipes from propane tanks and copper wire from grain bins. Also stolen were items such as welders, a table saw and batteries.
