Woman reports intruder in campus apartment

CHAMPAIGN — Champaign police are investigating a case of a man being inside a woman's campus apartment while she was showering earlier this week.

According to information posted on the University of Illinois Public Safety web site, the woman was showering in her apartment at University Towers, 309 E. Green St., C, about 9:10 p.m. Wednesday when she opened the curtain and saw a man looking at her.

The woman yelled and he ran from the bathroom. She shut and locked the door but he tried to get back in. Her continued screaming apparently prompted him to leave the apartment.

Police said the man tried to get in other apartments in the same building.

The intruder is described as a skinny black male, about 20 years old, 6 feet tall, wearing a red "Angry Birds" ball cap and a red shirt.

Anyone with information is asked to call Champaign police at 351-4545 or Crimestoppers of Champaignr county at 373-8477.
