Canaan Academy sets scholarship benefit

URBANA — Canaan Academy is hosting its annual scholarship benefit on Oct. 6.

The event will raise money for scholarships for students through the Canaan Development Foundation. It will feature food, fellowship, music and a tour of the the academy

Featured guests for the benefit include Grammy-nominated and Stellar Award winner

Tony Tidwell and Uncommon Favor of Chicago. Local guests will include Phoebe Lenear, Willie T. Summerville and the Community Mass Choir and the Canaan Academy Children's Choir.

The reception starts at 4 p.m. and the program at 5 that evening, at 207 N. Central Ave., U.

Tickets are $30 per person.

A tax deductible contribution to provide a full or partial scholarship for a child can be made by going to http://www.canaandevelopmentfoundation.org or by calling 217-367-2158. Scholarship sponsors may also mail their contribution to: Canaan Development Foundation, 404 W. Main Street, Urbana, IL 61801.

The Canaan Academy serves students in pre-kindergarten through fifth grade.
