Gas line cut on UI campus

CHAMPAIGN - About 7:36 a.m., Champaign fire officials were alerted that a two-inch natural gas line had been cut at the intersection of Second Street and Gregory Drive on the University of Illinois campus.

Fire department spokeswoman Dena Schumacher said Ameren officials are there trying to fix it. Firefighters are standing by and police are in the area.

Schumacher said Gregory between First and Third is closed. Be alert to other traffic diversions.
