Auction set Oct. 31 for leases of 3 Ford County farms

PAXTON — Bids will be accepted for the lease of three farms owned by Ford County during a public auction scheduled for Oct. 31.

The current cash rent leases for the farm expires Nov. 30. The farms are up for a two-year lease, from Dec. 1, 2012, through Nov. 30, 2014.

The auction will be held at 1:30 p.m. in the large courtroom at the Ford County Courthouse.

Bids will be accepted for cash rent leases for: the Ford County Nursing Home Farm, consisting of 104 acres in Patton Township; the Bowen/Grider Farm, consisting of 152 acres in Button Township; and the Hatfield/Bowen Farm, consisting of 154 acres in Button Township.

The Ford County Board on Monday approved authorizing the board's overview committee to accept or reject any bids received.
