Police looking for adult book store robber

URBANA — Area police are looking for a man who held up an adult entertainment store in north Urbana early Tuesday.

Champaign County sheriff’s Lt. Ed Ogle said deputies were called to Fantasy’s, 3604 N. Cunningham Ave., just before 3 a.m.

Ogle said a man came in about 2:50 a.m. with a green sleeve on his head and his face partially covered. He was holding what appeared to be a gun covered by a bag when he demanded cash from the female clerk. No weapon was actually seen.

The woman handed over an undisclosed amount of money and the robber left the business in an unknown direction. Ogle said the clerk, who was not physically hurt, didn’t know if he was on foot or in a vehicle.

The robber was described as a white male in his mid-20s, about 5 feet 6 inches tall, 150 pounds, with brown hair and brown eyes.

Anyone with information is asked to call the sheriff’s office at 217-384-1213 or those who wish to remain anonymous and possibly collect a reward can call  Crimestoppers of Champaign County at 217-373-8477.
