TOLONO — Despite some problems with lime rock dust and hitting water mains, the drainage project in southeast portion of the village is doing well in terms of both time and money, according to engineer Matt Johnson of Foth Infrastructure and Environment.
Johnson reminded the village board Tuesday that the $2.32 million project was bid at $300,000 below what was budgeted and that the bid price included $100,000 in contingencies.
"Our budget is in very good shape," Johnson said. "We are way below what we thought this project was going to cost."
Contractually the project is to be completed by March 15, 2013.
"We are probably four months ahead of schedule, worst case," Johnson said.
