Drummers will perform at Japan House event

URBANA — The Taiko drumming ensemble Ho Etsu Taiko based in Chicago will perform at the Japan House Fall Open House at 11 a.m. and 1 p.m. Saturday.

The open house at 2000 S. Lincoln Ave., U, will be from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. and also feature tours led by Jim Bier, the designer, donor and caretaker of the Japan House gardens.

Tea ceremonies will be offered throughout the day for $5. The open house itself is free and open to the public. The Japan House is a facility of the University of Illinois College of Fine and Applied Arts.
