No injuries in Kenney bank robbery

KENNEY — No one was injured in an armed bank robbery Wednesday in the DeWitt County town of Kenney.

The DeWitt County sheriff's office said the Kenney Bank and Trust was robbed at about 9:50 Wednesday morning. The robber is described as a white man in his mid-20s, about 5 feet and 5 or 6 inches. He was wearing a black ski mask and a baggy blue sweatshirt.

He was last seen driving west on Illinois 54. The sheriff's office had no description of the vehicle, and did not specify what weapon was involved.

DeWitt County Sheriff's Chief Deputy Mike Walker said no customers were in the bank when it was robbed, and no employees were injured.

The sheriff's office is investigating, and is asking anyone with information to call 935-3196.
