Fire hits Danville home; no injuries reported

DANVILLE — Danville fire officials are investigating a fire that damaged a home early Sunday morning.

Firefighters were called to the fire at 322 N. Washington St. at 7:30 a.m. When they arrived, heavy smoke was coming from the one-story, wood-frame structure, according to a report.

An occupant, whose name was not available, was home when the fire broke out but escaped without injury. No one else was injured during the incident.

Firefighters located the fire under a window at the rear of the house, and brought it under control quickly.

"Right now, it is still under investigation," Capt. Todd Spicer said, adding officials are still trying to determine the cause.

Damage was estimated at $15,000.
