Indiana man injured in crash near Danville

DANVILLE— An Indiana man was hospitalized following a single vehicle crash Tuesday afternoon near Danville.

According to a state police report, Ronald Beach, 65, of Evansville, Ind., was driving a car west on Interstate 74 when he fell asleep behind the wheel near milepost 218 and lost control at 2:35 p.m. Tuesday.

Beach’s car crashed into the center median, rolling over twice.

Beach was taken to Carle Foundation Hospital in Urbana, where he was treated for “incapacitating injuries,” according to state police. Beach was listed in fair condition Wednesday morning.

Police ticketed Beach for improper lane usage.
