Fisher teen accused of burglaries

URBANA — A Fisher man charged with stealing from other Fisher residents is due back in court Dec. 11.

John Morris, 18, was charged in Champaign County Circuit Court on Monday with residential burglary for allegedly entering a home in the 500 block of South Second Street on Nov. 1 and stealing insulin syringes and prescription medication.

He was also charged with burglary for allegedly stealing a wallet from a vehicle parked in the 200 block of South Second on Friday or Saturday.

A Fisher police report said police developed Morris as a suspect and when they interviewed him, he admitted to those two burglaries as well as recent others in the village.

Morris is being held in the county jail in lieu of $20,000 bond.

If convicted of the more serious offense of residential burglary, he faces a mandatory prison term of between four and 15 years.
