Woman hurt in Interstate crash

CHAMPAIGN — A Champaign woman was injured in a single vehicle crash at an interstate interchange on Tuesday afternoon.

According to a state police report, Lauren Shannon, 22, of Champaign, was driving a car north on Interstate 57 and was taking the Interstate 74 east ramp at 3:25 p.m. Tuesday when she lost control of the vehicle, which ran off the road to the right.

Shannon's car hit a reflector post before rotating and hitting a light pole with the driver's side of the vehicle. The car then landed in a ditch.

Shannon was taken to Carle Foundation Hospital, where she was listed in good condition on Tuesday evening.

Police ticketed Shannon for improper lane usage.
