Ingrum: Obamacare will stay intact

With the re-election of President Barack Obama, the head of an Urbana-based health insurance agency says the Affordable Care Act will stay intact, and if everything goes as planned, it will be implemented in January 2014.

President and CEO of Health Alliance Jeff Ingrum was a guest Wednesday on A Penny for Your Thoughts on NewsTalk 1400 WDWS-AM.  Ingrum said there may not be enough time for the health care law to take effect by 2014.

Ingrum also said that with Obama's re-election, nothing has changed with the financial health of Medicare.

Ingrum said that some ideas are being tossed around to improve the problems with Medicare, such as increasing the eligibility age or moving Medicare to a voucher program.

Ingrum said that re-enrollment for Medicare is available at the Health Alliance office or online through the first week of December.
