Workshop set for help with dyslexia

URBANA — Linking Educators and Parents, a dyslexia study group, his hosting a free workshop about technology help for those with dyslexia.

The workshop is scheduled from 6:30 to 8 p.m. Nov. 27, in the Urbana Free Library Auditorium, 200 W. Green St., U.

It will feature Debbie Shaw, who provides workshops on educational technology for Texthelp Inc. She will introduce a literacy support tool called Read&Write GOLD.

The software helps with reading, writing, researching and studying. Those with dyslexia could use it for help with reading, writing, spelling and grammar.

Attendees who register early will receive a free 30-day trial of the software.

Continuing professional development unit credits are available for teachers through the regional office of education.
