Police seek help in Urbana burglary

URBANA — Urbana police are asking for help solving a burglary to an east Urbana home last week that netted thieves thousands of dollars worth of items, including shotguns.

Sgt. Dan Morgan said a man living in the 600 block of East Illinois Street returned home Friday night to find that his home had been entered, apparently through an unlocked window. Police found a screen removed.

Morgan said among the stolen items were a large LG television, an Xbox gaming system and games, a digital camera, a collection of colognes, and eight shotguns, both 12- and 20-gauge.

Morgan said the stolen items were valued in excess of $7,000.

Anyone with information on the burglary is asked to called the Urbana Police Department at 217-384-2320 or Crimestoppers at 373-8477.

a collection of colognes

That should make them easy to find. If anybody notices someone suddenly smelling really good for a change, make a call. It's the little things that give people away.
