Brocton driver ticketed for DUI after truck crash

HINDSBORO — A Brocton couple were injured late Tuesday when the pickup they were in went down an embankment in southern Douglas County.

A release from the Illinois State Police at Pesotum said about 11:53 p.m. David R. Tincher, 45, was driving east on Illinois 133 when he attempted to turn left on to Douglas County Road 1850 E.

Tincher missed the turn and drove down an embankment on the south side of the county highway. The truck came to rest at the bottom on the embankment.

Tincher was not wearing a seat belt and was injured. He was taken to Carle Foundation Hospital in Urbana by ambulance. Hospital officials had no information on him Wednesday morning.

Passenger Jerri L. Tincher, 41, was wearing a seat belt. She was taken to Sarah Bush Lincoln Health Center near Mattoon. That hospital does not give out condition reports.

Police ticketed David Tincher for driving under the influence of alcohol, not wearing a seat belt and improper lane usage, the release said.
