Powell to hold benefit for food bank

URBANA — Musician-band leader Morgan Powell will host a music benefit from 5 to 9 p.m. Wednesday at The Iron Post, 120 S. Race St., for the Eastern Illinois Foodbank. Admission will be $10, with all proceeds going to the food bank. Each $1 donation is equivalent to $10 worth of food.

The lineup:

— 5 to 6 p.m., Dorothy Martirano's Almost "A" Quintet, featuring guest artist Robin Kearton. The band plays primarily gypsy jazz.

— 6:30 to 7:30 p.m., Traditional Jazz Orchestra, headed by Powell.

— 8 to 9 p.m., Bruiser Rummenie's The Impalas, with singer Dawna Nelson.
