Drug plea brings probation

An Urbana man's guilty plea in a drug case has brought him probation and 90 days in jail.

Tyran Jackson, 35, who listed an address in the 1600 block of East Florida Avenue, Urbana, was sentenced to 30 months of probation and 90 days in jail after pleading guilty to possession with intent to deliver a controlled substance.

He admitted that on Oct. 17, he had cocaine for sale in the 1800 block of South Cottage Grove Avenue in Urbana. A more serious charge of selling within 1,000 feet of a park was dismissed.
