Man charged with another vehicle burglary

URBANA — A Champaign man who was free after being charged with vehicle burglaries earlier this month has been charged with another vehicle burglary.

Jamie Lee Johnson, 39, who listed an address in the 1300 block of Winding Lane, Champaign, is accused of entering a car in the 300 block of East Daniel Street, Champaign, about 3 p.m. Saturday, and taking an electronic game accessory.

Johnson was out on his own recognizance after having been charged with two counts of burglary for entering two vehicles in an apartment parking lot in the 500 block of South Mattis Avenue in Champaign, on Nov. 8.

At the time of his earlier arrest, Johnson showed Champaign police other cars he had entered on different streets in Champaign.

Johnson remained in the county jail Tuesday in lieu of $10,000 bond. If convicted in both cases, he would have to serve his sentences one after the other.

He was told to be back in court Dec. 11.
