UHS theatre program sets fundraiser

URBANA — The Urbana High School theatre program is hosting a "Zumbathon" event Saturday, Dec. 8.

It's scheduled from 4:15 to 5:45 p.m. at the Urbana Middle School cafetorium.

It will raise money for the group to take its production of "Chicago" to the Illinois High School Theatre Festival at the University of Illinois in January. UHS students in the production will perform for students and educators from across the state.

The fundraiser will have attendees purchase a ticket for a class with a certified Zumba instructor. Zumba is a form of aerobics that combines Latin-infused music with dance.

Tickets are $8 in advance or $10 at the door. You can purchase tickets in advance online at http://uhsdramazumba2.eventbrite.com. All proceeds will go to the UHS theatre program.

The fundraiser will also feature several raffle prizes.
