Downtown Champaign shoppers can use parking deck free

CHAMPAIGN — During December, drivers who spend at least $5 at a downtown Champaign business or restaurant will be allowed up to four hours of free parking at the Hill Street parking deck on the same day as their purchase.

The offer has become an annual promotion to encourage and thank customers who patronize downtown businesses, according to a press release from the city.

The offer is limited to one free visit in the deck per day between 7 a.m. and 11 p.m., Monday through Friday. Parking in the deck is free on Saturdays and Sundays.

Customers need to provide proof of their same-day purchase to the cashier in the booth at the Hill Street exit to receive their free parking.
