Roller derby league seeks partner charities

CHAMPAIGN — The Twin City Derby Girls roller derby league is committed to serving the Champaign-Urbana community and to empowering women and girls through charitable service and outreach.

Its Community Involvement Program helps drive that mission by focusing on one specific organization per season. The Twin City Derby Girls are seeking partner charities to receive a portion of the proceeds from their 2013 home season and to benefit from publicity, advocacy and volunteer services provided by their league members.

"The community has been a huge support to our league from the beginning," said Tina Davis, Twin City Derby Girls president. "As we continue to thrive within and because of that community, we'd like to ensure that we are giving back so others can enjoy the same benefit."

The Twin City Derby Girls are accepting, through Dec. 10, applications for the 2013 partnership. If you would like to submit an application, please email More information on the league may be found at
