Champaign police look for runaway girl

CHAMPAIGN — Champaign police are asking for the public's help in finding a runaway teenage girl.

Champaign police spokeswoman Rene Dunn said the parents of Jasmin Manriquez, 16, say the girl has a history of running away. Police said the girl is from Champaign.

Police said the girl was reported missing in September.

Dunn said numerous tips have been received to lead parents to believe she is in the Champaign-Urbana area.

Police believe the teen is aware of multiple attempts to find her and may be evading both police and her parents with help from others.

Manriquez has brown hair that may contain blond highlights. She is Hispanic, weighs 110 pounds and is between 5 feet 3 inches and 5 feet 4 inches tall with brown eyes. She also has a tattoo on her left wrist.

Persons with information about the teen are asked to call 911 or call Champaign police at 351-4545.
