Next Generation students seek donations for refugee center

CHAMPAIGN — Students at Next Generation Middle School are collecting toiletries as it teams up with the East Central Illinois Refugee Mutual Assistance Center, and they're asking the community to donate, as well.

The students are putting on a collection drive from next Monday through Friday, Dec. 14.

Donations from community members can be dropped off between 8 a.m. and 5 p.m. next week at the Next Generation Primary and Middle School Building, 2521 Galen Drive, C. All donated items will be distributed through the refugee center.

The students are collecting paper towels, toilet paper, shampoo and conditioner, hand soap, toothbrushes and toothpaste. Paper products and toiletry items offered for donation must be in their original packaging. They're also collecting bath and hand towels, which may be new or in gently used condition.
