Dropoff added for donations for Santas Anonymous

WESTVILLE — Santas Anonymous has added another location where people can drop off Christmas presents for needy children.

A collection barrel has been placed at Casey's General Store at 750 S. State St., Westville.

People can drop off new or gently used wrapped toys for children, infants through high school age, at that site or one of the other locations through Dec. 19. Santa Claus will deliver the gifts to 160 local children in 67 families on Dec. 23, according to organizer Darlene Oakes.

Oakes and organizer Debbie Seripinas said the non-profit group, now in its 36th year, is grateful for all donations but particularly needs items for boys, ages 12 to 14. She said the group is no longer collecting pajamas, underwear, socks and other clothing and stuffed animals, as those needs already have been filled.

People also can make a cash donation by calling Oakes at 217-267-3313 or Seripinas at 217-267-7737.

Other drop-off locations include: Judith Giacoma School, Westville; the Westville American Legion Post 51; Landmark Credit Union in Westville; Dollar General in Westville and Tilton; New Wave Communications, MS Salon, Big R in Tilton; Julee's Shooting Star, Subway and Stone Mountain Cafe in Westville.
