MTD expands Saturday service for UI finals

URBANA — Local bus service will be augmented Saturday morning in the University of Illinois campus area to help UI students get to their 8 a.m. final exams.

Final exams begin at the UI on Friday and end on Dec. 20. This is the first time in several years that the Champaign-Urbana Mass Transit District will make special accommodations because of Saturday exams.

The following MTD service additions will be made early Saturday:

— The 10E Gold will operate from the Ikenberry Dining Hall to Goodwin and Green at 7:25 a.m. and 7:45 a.m.

— The 100N Yellow will operate from Ikenberry to Wright and Healey at 7:25 a.m. and 7:45 a.m.

— The 130N Silver will operate from PAR to Goodwin and Green at 7:30 a.m. and 7:46 a.m.

— The 130S Silver will operate from Lincoln Square to the Transit Plaza on Wright Street near the Illini Union Bookstore at 7:35 a.m.

— The 220N Illini will operate from First and Gregory to the Transit Plaza at 7:20 a.m. and 7:40 a.m.

The trips do not normally operate on Saturday mornings. They operate from residence halls and campus housing areas into core campus.

All other normal Saturday schedules will be in operation.
