Superintendent removes benefit from contract to save district money

ROYAL — Superintendent Vic White is doing his part to to save Prairieview-Ogden some money.

White agreed to remove the Pekin Life Insurance benefit from his contract. The benefit costs the district $1,740 each year.

"The teachers agreed to take a lesser pay for next year," he said. "I feel that I need to do my part too."

Also at this week's meeting, PVO approved changing the time of the February board meeting to 8:30 p.m. White says it is because he is coaching girls' volleyball this year and has a game at 6 p.m.

The board also approved the 2012 tax levy which will be payable in 2013. The total extension for last year was $1,691,733 and the board approved $1,795,000 for 2013.
