Rain possible Monday; Snow could fall later this week

CHAMPAIGN — Monday afternoon could bring showers, according to the National Weather Service, and Champaign-Urbana could see some flakes fall before the end of the week.

The start of the work week could be cloudy with a high temperature around 44 degrees, and the weather service forecasts a 30 percent chance of rain during the day, mainly after noon.

That will give way to a mild Tuesday and Wednesday, which are forecast to be sunny with high temperatures in the low 50s.

The rain will probably return Wednesday night. The high temperature could fall closer to 40 degrees on Thursday, and the weather service says snow is likely.

Sunny conditions could return on Friday, according to the weather service, but the high temperature will be closer to freezing.
