Man resentenced to prison after violating probation

URBANA — A Champaign man who admitted violating his probation for a weapons offense has been resentenced to prison.

Judge Tom Difanis agreed to recommend Adareus Carr, 22, who listed an address in the 1200 block of Mimosa Drive, for boot camp after resentencing him to three years in prison.

Difanis found that Carr violated the probation he received in January for possessing shotgun ammunition by possessing a gun in May.

Carr is not allowed to possess a weapon because of a 2011 conviction for aggravated unlawful use of weapons.
