Help sought in solving home invasion, robbery, murder
CHAMPAIGN — Champaign police and Champaign County Crimestoppers are asking the public's help in solving a home invasion, armed robbery and murder earlier this month on Champaign's north side.
According to a police report, officers were called to the 200 block of East Roper Street, Champaign, at 7:22 p.m. Dec. 17 after two men had been shot.
Champaign County Coroner Duane Northrup said that Bobby White, 33, of Champaign died at Carle Foundation Hospital in Urbana as a result of injuries received in the shooting.
One of the victims and a witness told police that two men, armed with guns, entered the home, fired shots and demanded money.
One of the men took cash from one of the victims, and the robbers then left the home.
A description of the robbers was incomplete, but police said they were wearing black hooded sweat shirts with scarves covering their faces.
