Urbana man injured, charged with DUI in accident on I-74

URBANA — A 30-year-old Urbana man was injured early Tuesday when his car hit a concrete median on Interstate 74 near Urbana.

Illinois State Police at Pesotum said Juan Reyes-Hernandes, who listed an address in the 2400 block of East Main Street, was driving east on I-74 over Cunningham Avenue at 1:09 a.m. when his car left the road on the left, hit the concrete median, crossed back over all the lanes and hit the right wall. The car then went in the ditch east of Cunningham Avenue.

Reyes-Hernandes was taken to Carle Foundation Hospital, where he was treated and released. He was arrested on preliminary charges of driving under the influence of alcohol, improper lane usage, illegal transportation of alcohol and not having a license, the report said.
