League of Women Voters to discuss affordable housing

URBANA — Those interested in Champaign County's affordable-housing issues are invited to attend the January meeting of the League of Women Voters this week.

The meeting is scheduled for noon Thursday in the Urbana City Building, 400 S. Vine St. It is expected to end by 1:30 p.m. and will be broadcast later on UPTV, cable channel 6.

According to a press release, three panelists will attend to share their perspectives and field questions about affordable housing in Champaign County.

The panel includes Darlene Kloeppel, the community services director for the Champaign County Regional Planning Commission; Tonya Crawley, director of the housing choice voucher program at the Housing Authority of Champaign County; and John Roska, an attorney with Land of Lincoln Legal Assistance.

The event is free and open to the public.
