Audit shows red ink for Oakwood school district
OAKWOOD — The school district's audit report from the last fiscal year shows red ink all categories.
While Superintendent Karen Perry noted that the disctrict is expecting more revenue from its various funding sources, she is concerned the state is over $300,000 behind in paying what it owes.
"Some payments were approved in September but were paid in January," she said.
She said the district is still waiting to receive approved payments and was uncertain if it is going to get them.
Perry said the district has received all of the federal funding due to it.
In other business, Perry reiterated that the state has raised the bar on what is required of students and the change will be probably reflected in the Illinois Standard Achievement Test scores.
And the board approved the 2013-2014 school calendar.
