Teen arrested over knife incident

FISHER — A Fisher teen was arrested Thursday for allegedly holding a knife to the throat of a fellow student at the high school.

State's Attorney Julia Rietz said she charged the 15-year-old Friday with aggravated assault for allegedly putting a knife to the throat of a 14-year-old boy in a classroom on Tuesday. When another student came in the classroom, the episode ended, Rietz said.

The 14-year-old did not report the incident to school authorities but told his father about it later. Rietz said the two both had "ongoing issues." It was reported to Fisher police, who arrested the teen at school on Thursday. He still had the knife on him, Rietz said.

The 15-year-old was taken to the Juvenile Detention Center.

At an afternoon court appearance Friday, Judge Harry Clem ordered the teen be held in detention until a Feb. 8 court hearing.
