St. Joseph board votes to pay for fireworks

ST. JOSEPH — The village this week agreed to pay for fireworks for the Community Festival in August.

The board paid $5,000 for the fireworks last year. Trustee Tami Fruhling-Voges said the village was financially able to sponsor the fireworks again.

The board also voted to hold spring cleanup again. The board discussed holding the event the first weekend in May but didn't want it to happen on the same weekend of the community garage sales. The village will work to pick a date and will announce it later this month.

Also at the meeting, it was announced that another meeting will take place on March 4 to discuss the village's comprehensive plan. The meeting will take place at 7 p.m. at Village Hall.
