Champaign man arrested on drug charges

URBANA — A Champaign man is being held at the Champaign County Jail on $150,000 bond following his arrest on drug charges.

Corey A. Parker, 32, who listed an address in the 3800 block of North Prospect Avenue, Champaign, pleaded innocent on Thursday to one count of unlawful possession with the intent to deliver a controlled substance and one count of unlawful possession with the intent to deliver cannabis.

According to a Champaign County sheriff's report, the Champaign County sheriff's office street crimes unit got a search warrant for Parker's home as part of an ongoing investigation.

When the officers executed the search warrant at 6:12 a.m. Wednesday, they found Parker at home.

The report says Parker admitted he had been distributing illegal drugs "all my life."

The officers arrested Parker after they found 1.66 ounces (47.1 grams) of suspected cocaine, 0.94 ounce (26.7 grams) of suspected marijuana and $1,121 in cash inside Parker's safe.

Parker's next court appearance was set for March 21.
