Food giveaway scheduled for Georgetown Township

GEORGETOWN — Georgetown Township will host a foodmobile on from 9 to 11 a.m. April 6 at the township building, 1805 N. Main St., Georgetown

It is open to everyone in the Georgetown and Westville school districts who meet income eligibility guidelines.

The monthly income for a single-person household can't exceed $1,722; $2,333 for a two-person household; $2,943 for a three-person household; $3,554 for a four-person household; $4,164 for a five-person household; $4,775 for a six-person household; $5,385 for a five-person household; and $5,996 for an eight-person household.

People must self-attest to meeting the income guidelines below by providing their signature at the giveaway.

"It's just on the honor system," township Supervisor Penny Holycross said, adding people only need to bring something to carry their food "and a smile."

The event is also being sponsored by the Eastern Illinois Foodbank and the John P. Cadle Foundation of Danville.
