DACC to host Ag Day

DANVILLE — The Danville Area Community College Ag Club will host its 2013 Ag Day on from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Thursday on campus at 2000 E. Main St.

The event is open to the public and free, except for the price of the luncheon.

A barbecue luncheon will be served from 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. in the Mary Miller Gym. Carry-out lunches are not available.

The luncheon will consist of a pork barbecue sandwich, applesauce, baked beans, potato chips and milk or Pepsi that will be served for 50 cents a person, the price the farmer usually receives for these products after producing and selling them.

Additional donations will be accepted.

The lunch will be served by Ag Club members, DACC students and staff and local FFA chapters.

Other activities include two barnyard petting zoos, pedal tractor pulls for the children, tractors and farm equipment displays, and a tour through the DACC greenhouse. Also, local FFA chapters, DACC, local ag businesses and community organizations will have exhibits in the Mary Miller Gym.
