Meeting set on criminal justice issues

URBANA — The public is welcome to a meeting Monday with Alan Kalmanoff, director of the Institute for Law and Public Policy, on Champaign County criminal justice issues, including the future of county correctional facilities.

The meeting will be from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. at the Urbana Civic Center, 108 E. Water St., U. It is sponsored by Champaign-Urbana Citizens for Peace and Justice.

Kalmanoff's Berkeley, Calif.-based firm has been reviewing data and interviewing local stakeholders since November regarding changes to the county's criminal justice system.

Recommendations are expected to be forwarded to the county board later in April.
