Hearing on Champaign County Jail canceled

URBANA — Monday’s public hearing scheduled for 6 p.m. at the Urbana Civic Center regarding the Champaign County Jail has been canceled.

Champaign County Administrator Deb Busey said that Dr. Alan Kalmanoff, director of the Institute for Law and Policy Planning, who was originally scheduled to speak at the hearing, was unable to make it to Champaign County from California.

A new date for the public hearing has not yet been scheduled, Busey said.

Is the meeting canceled, or is it postponed? If it is canceled, there is no need to schedule a new date, since canceled means the session is never going to happen.
