SADORUS — A Sadorus man was cited for driving under the influence of alcohol after wrecking an all-terrain vehicle near his home Friday night.
Robert Deedrick, 39, was listed in fair condition Saturday at Carle Foundation Hospital.
Champaign County sheriff’s Sgt. Jeff Vercler said deputies were called to Deedrick’s home in the 300 block of North West Street about 10:50 p.m. Deedrick told family members he had injured his leg and asked them to call 911.
Vercler said Deedrick told the emergency medical technicians that he wrecked a four-wheeler in his backyard. They noticed that he was wearing a bracelet that allowed entry to a bar and deputies noted that his eyes were glassy and bloodshot, his speech was slurred and he smelled of alcohol.
Deedrick was ticketed for driving under the influence at the hospital, Vercler said.
