Laurel Prussing has been re-elected mayor of Urbana. We have stories about the District 1 race for Champaign city council; the Champaign school board's new members; the re-election of two to the Parkland College board. The incumbent won the only contested school board seat in Urbana.

Rantoul will have a new mayor.

In Douglas County, voters approved a 1 percent sales tax for schools.

Voters approved merging the Atwood-Hammond and Arthur school districts.
